Some of my theatrical movies, starting with
the box office hit HEROES,
include THE BIG FIX, THE
CHOSEN (Grand Prix at the Montreal World
Film Festival and Christopher
Award in 1982), BY
THE SWORD and THE JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN,
the first American film
to win a Gold Prize at the Moscow
Film Festival in 1987.
Among my many television movies are are KATHERINE,
and CONSPIRACY: THE TRIAL
OF THE CHICAGO 8 (HBO
1988 ACE Awards for Best Special Dramatic Special),
I both wrote and directed.
DESCENDING ANGEL, COURAGE, COLOR OF JUSTICE
and ROSWELL: THE UFO COVER-UP,
which I produced and
directed and was nominated for a 1994 Golden Globe.
I received the 1996 EMMY for Outstanding Direction
of a Drama Series. I also
teach a master class at USC and serve as the
Artistic Director of Robert
Redford's Sundance Institute.
