Tony and Golden Globe Award winner, Barry Bostwick plays the key role of Miller, the CIA agent in Blue Ridge's "METALBEASTO. His credits include OMegaforcew, ORocky Horror Picture Showo, "Weekend at Bernie's 110, the universally acclaimed OWar and Remembrancew TV series for CBS and "George Washington" for MGWCBS.
He made his professional stage debut as a sophomore at San Diego's School of Performing Arts in *Take Her, She's Minew with Walter Pidgeon. He then went on to NYU's Graduate School of the Arts and soon made his Broadway debut in the title role of Sean O'Casey's "Cock-a-Doodle-Dandy". Many New York productions followed, and he earned his first Tony Award nomination for creating the role of Danny Zuko in the smash hit Broadway musical "Greasew, and his second nomination for the role of Joey in "They Knew What They Wanted" in 1975. He then won the coveted award in 1978 for his brilliant performance as "The Robber Bridegroomm, a role he created at Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum.
He went on to New York City Opera's OL'Histoire du Soldato where his performance received a standing ovation. Then, in 1981, he portrayed the swashbuckling Pirate King in Joseph Papp's production of "The Pirates of Penzance", reprising the role in Toronto. He returned to Broadway in 1991 to star in "Nick and Nora".
1992 and 1993 were busy film years for Barry. He completed weekend at Bernie's 2", "800 Leagues Down the Amazonm", directed by Luis Liosa, acclaimed director of "Sniper" and the independent feature "Russian Holiday". Among his other film roles are the quintessential young middle American, Brad Majors, in the megahit midnight cult movie, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and he gives a memorable dual performance in Stanley Donen's "Movie, Movie".
He is also well known for his many starring roles in highly acclaimed television films and miniseries, including his Golden Globe Award winning performance as Lieutenant "Lady" Aster in ABC's 30 hour "War and Remembrance". Other leading roles include "Murder By Natural Causes", "Betrayed by Innocence", the adaptation of the classic "You Can't Take lt With You" with Jean Stapleton and Art Carney, "Body of Evidence", "Addicted to his Love", "The Last U-Boat", "Between Love and Hate" and "Praying Mantis".
He received critical praise for his illuminating portrait of George Washington in CBS' Peabody Award winning teleplay, as well as his portrayal of the ageing President in the sequel, "George Washington 11, The Forging of a Nation".
In addition to his film and television work, Barry has appeared in several musical specials for PBS.
Prior to making "METALBEAST". his most recent credit was in "The Unfaithful", an independent feature for Concord/New Horizons which is scheduled to be released later this year.
