B I O G R A P H Y
My first feature film, Pretty Poison, with Anthony Perkins and Tuesday Weld, is considered a classic in the film-noir genre, and became a critic's cause celebre in America. My screenwriting credits include Mischief, a project on which I also served as Executive Producer for 20th Century Fox. In addition, I've frequently contributed extensive work on the screenplays in which I've been involved.

My first project after graduate film school at UCLA was
Skaterdater, a short subject cinematic romance without dialogue, which used only music and sound effects to advance its plot. Skaterdater won nine international film awards.

I then created and directed my first television special,
Trilogy: The American Boy for ABC. Trilogy was chosen to represent the United States at the VIII International Monte Carlo Television Festival, where I was awarded the Cino del Duca Award, given to the "outstanding young director of the festival."

During my career, I've directed many great actors, including
Tim Robbins, Helen Hunt, Mira Sorvino, Robert Mitchum, Sarah Michelle Geller, Drew Barrymore, Matthew Modine, Amy Irving, Ron Howard, Lynn Redgrave and Donald Sutherland, among many others.

I am a U.S. and Irish citizen and can work in the 15 EC countries.
